I am a Christian, married to a Jewish girl who does not believe that Jesus is Messiah. When I started dating her in college, I figured I would just "convert" her, and so I didn't worry about Paul's advice not to be "unequally yoked". Needless to say, I had no idea how tragically insufficient I was for such a thing. But what I did find out was that I was the one who needed converting. And convert me He did.
Fast-forward 20 years. Today we are active members at a Reform Jewish congregation, where I am a grateful and humble part of many aspects of synagogue life. God, in His mercy, has truly given me a deep love for this people Israel - the Jews. I don't just love them because the Bible tells me so - I love them because they are my family and dear friends. Nevertheless, I have a deep burden for the tribulation that lies ahead for this people, and I now know that God has given me a mission to shine the light of Messiah Jesus into their hearts, and help to bring them into the Ark of Safety for the time to come.
